What is a QR Code?
QR Code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code) first designed for the automotive industry. The code consists of colored modules (square dots) arranged in a square pattern on a white background.
QR Codes are very effective in print advertising campaigns.
In the USA, during the month of June 2011, according to one study, 14 million mobile users scanned a QR Code or a barcode. Some 58% of those users scanned a QR or bar code from their home, while 39% scanned from retail stores; 53% of the 14 million users were men between the ages of 18 and 34.
